PHIL TAG
Phil Tag is an acclaimed stand-up comedian, comedy writer and producer with an impressive career spanning more than three decades. After landing pivotal television spots on Showtime’s Comedy Club Network and A&E’s An Evening At The Improv, Phil went on to win Ed McMahon’s Star Search, and was invited to perform at the prestigious Montreal Just For Laughs Comedy Festival, which led to an appearance on Comedy Central Presents, and numerous appearances on NBC’s The Tonight Show with Jay Leno.
As a writer, Phil has made notable contributions on a variety of iconic television shows, including The Late Show with David Letterman, Saturday Night Live's "Weekend Update” with Norm Macdonald, and cast member Tracy Morgan. He’s written and performed on multiple Friars Club Roasts with Jeffrey Ross, co-wrote with Ross on Comedy Central’s Offsides, and co-wrote on the late Richard Jeni’s one man show that premiered at Just For Laughs.
On the production side, Phil co-produced and wrote for The People's Choice Awards with Kevin James and Ray Romano, and served as Head Writer and Associate Producer for the comedy sports show Unsportsmanlike Conduct, where he also had his own segment titled “Tag You’re It,” doing sketches with famous sports figures, including legendary broadcaster and voice of the NFL, Harry Kalas.
